IFC celebrates the official opening of its new head office and distribution centre in Altona, Victoria
IFC has been delivering award-winning, first-class supply chain solutions for over 30 years and is constantly evolving our services and facilities to benefit our customers in a commitment to excellence.
With an extensive network of dedicated and shared facilities, IFC has recently expanded upon our facilities to further enhance our operational efficiency and meet the growing demands of our customers.
On Friday, 26th May, IFC was pleased to officially open our new head office and distribution centre in Altona, Victoria. Local Minister, Hon. Melissa Horne, joined Renzo Bevinetto, IFC’s Managing Director, to officially open the new premises with a ribbon cutting ceremony and presentation to commemorate the event. Over 150 customers, suppliers and team members attended to celebrate the official opening event and receive a tour of the impressive new premises.
The state-of-the-art facility provides an additional 27,000 square meters of warehouse space to meet the demand and increase the local pallet capacity to 45,000. The new warehousing facility has been developed as part of IFC’s strategy to deliver the highest standards of service-driven warehousing space with exceptional cost management. IFC’s network of shared distribution and warehouse facilities leverages best-in-class design, systems, and processes for optimal customer outcomes.
The facilities include storage racking from a local Australian manufacturer, Safer Storage Systems saving 100 tonnes of C02 emissions, equivalent to 5,000 trees. The calculations have shown the benefit of supporting an Australian storage racking manufacturer, compared to importing a cheaper alternative from Asia or Europe. The investment has saved 100 tonnes of carbon emissions compared to an Asian import and 140 tonnes compared to importing from Europe. This supports IFC’s pursuit of a ‘local first’ strategy to support Australian businesses whilst making excellent carbon-saving gains.
The new distribution centre will enhance our customer service capabilities and optimise operational efficiency, and we are excited about the potential opportunities this expansion will offer. If your business requires a storage and distribution solution, contact our experienced team.
