Alexia Yiangoulli - Customer Relationship Manager
Tell us about your role with IFC and how long you have been with the business.
I am currently working as a Customer Relationship Manager at IFC, and I have been working here for 4 years.
What do you enjoy most about working at IFC?
I enjoy working at IFC as the people I work with are light-hearted and down-to-earth.
What drew you to work in the supply chain industry?
I came across this industry looking for my first full-time job and came across a job ad. I completed my Certificate 3 in International Freight Forwarding working as a trainee at IFC which led to full-time work.
Tell us a little about your background and experience.
I worked as a waitress/barista for the majority of my teen years, once it was time to find full-time work, I found myself working & studying at IFC. I started out in Reception, then LCL Cartage, moving through to the Operations department and now, more recently, starting to learn the ropes of Customer Service.
In your experience working in the industry, what are the biggest challenges and opportunities you’ve come across so far?
My biggest challenge working in this industry would have to be the rare occasions having to let people down. As not everything always goes to plan. The opportunities are endless, the more drive you have the more you can move up in this industry.
How do you think IFC differentiates from competitors?
The IFC team will always go above and beyond to satisfy their clients needs and requests.
For aspiring professionals interested in a career in the supply chain industry, what advice would you give them to kickstart their journey?
I had no idea how goods were imported/ exported or anything about the supply chain process before starting my traineeship. If you are interested in this type of occupation, then I would 100% encourage you to try it out as there is so many different pathways you can take.
What are your hobbies or favourite interests that you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
I enjoy going camping with friends and family and 4 wheel driving up the Victorian High Country!
