Recent rate rises
The North East Asia – Australia trade route, the Southbound Rate Restoration Ex Asia to Australia and New Zealand, and ANL North East Asia to Australia East Coasts Rate Restoration are experiencing recent rate increases from August 15th, 2023. Notable adjustments include OOCL's Rate Restoration, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company's modifications, and ANL of the CMA CGM Group.

OOCL would like to advise that there will be a Rate Restoration of US$150 / 20’ and US$300/ 40’ from 15th Aug 2023 to maintain sustainable and reliable schedule to our clients. It will be applied for both dry and refrigerated cargoes in the base ocean freight for cargoes from North East Asia to Australia.
This increase will be applied in full on top of existing ongoing market rates to all shipments based on shipment onboard date and will be subject to ancillary surcharges applicable at the time of shipment.

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company wishes to advise customers that in order to maintain service levels, a rate restoration will be implemented for all cargo moving from China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Philippines to Australia and New Zealand.
With effect from 15th of August 2023 (proforma sailing date), the following increase is to be applied:

Please be advised that with current freight rate no longer able to cover the basic operating costs, ANL will be implementing a rate restoration programm from August 15tn, 2023 at USD150 per 20’ dry/reefer & USD300 per 40’ dry/reefer for all shipment from North East Asia to Australia East Coasts in order to maintain a high service level. This increase will apply on top of current Spot/FAK rates subject to all applicable surcharges valid on time of shipment.
