I’ve worked at IFC for over 17 years in the Cartage team. Currently, I’m the Cartage Supervisor and work closely with the Operations Manager.
What do you enjoy most about working at IFC?
I enjoy working at IFC because of the collaboration with my peers across various teams and our diverse clients.
What drew you to work in the supply chain industry?
After I completed a Business Management diploma at TAFE, I landed a traineeship with PM Wilson. I didn’t know much about the supply chain industry but met some great people along the way, which made it enjoyable, and I started developing my experience and career.
Tell us a little about your background and experience.
I have been in the supply chain industry for 24 years. I started as a trainee at PM Wilson and was with that company for several years. Following that, I made the move to IFC.
In your experience working in the industry, what are the biggest challenges and opportunities you’ve come across so far?
Some of the challenges can sometimes be the short timeframes or deadlines that we must work within and the various moving parts that we must align to complete a job successfully.
How do you think IFC differentiates from competitors?
Unlike many other organisations, IFC has had consistency and stability in the management and employees. Many employees of IFC today have been in the organisation for decades, which is a testament to how we are treated, which creates unity.
For aspiring professionals interested in a career in the supply chain industry, what advice would you give them to kickstart their journey?
Give it a go. There are so many different areas and departments that make up the supply chain industry, so there really is something for everyone.
What are your hobbies or favourite interests that you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
Most of my free time is spent with my family at various sporting events, gatherings with friends and family and watching the AFL – Collingwood play on TV or at an actual game.
