Lennie Lubcke - National QHSE Manager
Tell us about your role with IFC and how long you have been with the business.
This is my 16th year at IFC. I have had several roles during those 16 years.
As the National Quality Health Safety and Environment Manager, I am involved in the maintenance of our Quality Management System, the Health, the Safety, and the Environment in which we all work.
What do you enjoy most about working at IFC?
The people I work with. The opportunities and challenges I have been given.
What drew you to work in the supply chain industry?
The range of opportunities and challenges the industry offers.
Tell us a little about your background and experience.
After 15 years in the hospitality industry managing bars and restaurants, it was time for a change. I started in this industry 25 years ago unloading containers at a small transport business in Geelong. Moved to Rays Outdoors unloading containers, gained experience in picking and packing, receiving and despatch. Managed these departments at Rays Outdoors.
Started at IFC putting nutritional labels on food products. As opportunities to advance through all operational departments of IFC’s W&D presented, I took them, through to Operations Manager and now National QHSE Manger.
What are the biggest challenges and opportunities you’ve encountered in your experience working in the industry?
Being given the opportunity to be involved at all stages in the builds and moves of two new warehouses and all the challenges along the way.
How do you think IFC differentiates from competitors?
The diversity in experience the IFC group of companies bring to the growth and development as a whole.
For aspiring professionals interested in a career in the supply chain industry, what advice would you give them to kickstart their journey?Criticism or “feedback” is given to you as a gift to make you better at what you do.
What hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing in your free time?
Fishing, Plants (gardening) and Woodworking.
