Port of Qingdao no longer accepting Hazardous Classes 1 through 7

Port of Qingdao no longer accepting Hazardous Classes 1 through 7

Port Authorities in China are implementing additional restrictions on the acceptance of Dangerous Goods

(DG) in Qingdao with immediate effect and as follows:

a) All IMO Classes of DG cargoes, from class 1 to 7, are forbidden to load, discharge, transship with discharge and re-stow in the port

b) Classes 8 and 9 of DG cargoes are still allowed to load, discharge, tranship with discharge and re-stow in the port

This limitation prevents carriers services from accepting any imports and exports of the said DG cargoes to and from Qingdao Port with immediate effect.

In case shipments are already on board to destination Qingdao, alternative solutions will be analyzed on a case by case basis. Diversion to alternative ports or the return of import cargo to its original load port may be required.
