PHILIPPINES CUSTOMS – ADVANCED CARGO DECLARATION

Please find following notification received from Yang Ming regarding Philippines Customs Advance Cargo Declaration. In particular we would like to draw your attention to the following items which must be shown on forwarding/shipping instructions in order to ensure we comply with Customs requirements:

  1. Generic descriptions such as FAK (Freight All Kinds), general cargo and / or similar terminology shall not be allowed, and will be treated as incomplete information which will be penalized.
  2. Vague descriptions such as chemicals, foodstuffs and electronics etc should be avoided.
  3. Cubic measurement

In order to achieve the required reporting, all Forwarding/Shipping Instructions for the Philippines must be received 3 working days prior to vessels departure at the load port. We appreciate your assistance in ensuring these are received timely to avoid cargo being rejected or fines being imposed.
