Motor Carrier Service Disruption in Vancouver, B.C.

Motor Carrier Service Disruption in Vancouver, B.C.

Please be advised that on-going labour negotiations that began on February 24, 2014 between the United Trucker’s Association (UTA) and Port Metro Vancouver (PMV) have failed to result in an agreement between the parties. While the Port of Vancouver is fully operational, access to the port remains limited as a result of picket lines in the port area.

Canadian Transport Minister Lisa Raitt has appointed mediator Vince Ready to assist, but unfortunately these efforts have not yet produced an agreement between the parties. It is expected that truck moves will continue to be negatively impacted in the Vancouver, B.C. area in the interim.

We will continue to monitor the situation and advise of developments
