Last week was a very difficult week in regards to container deliveries due to operational constraints at West Swanson Intermodal Terminal (Melbourne), the landside terminal of DP World.
At one point last week WSIT withdraw all time slots for one day in order to clear the backlog which caused many delays and rescheduling of container deliveries. The delays also resulted in one vessel having to be moved to Patricks after berthing as DP World could not cope with the volume of containers.
We have just been advised that DP World are expecting the largest week in container through-put that they have ever experienced in Melbourne.
We are working hard to secure Timeslots and will keep you updated regularly as to any issues we may encounter. Given the issues we already face dealing WSIT we do not expect this week to be incident free and request your patience – any urgent containers please be sure to give us as much advance notice as possible.
