Chittagong Port Congestion Surcharge

Please be advised that congestion in Bangladesh (Port Of Chittagong) is reaching critical levels. All shipping lines calling Chittagong terminals are heavily impacted, with vessels waiting an additional 7 to 10 days on average above the normal berth wait times.

These delays stem from lower yard productivity due to heavily congested terminal yards.

As a result feeder operators on this trade lane are imposing a Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) on all imports into Chittagong

This surcharge will apply to all Chittagong inbound shipments departing Australian origin ports on or after the 20th July 2017 and will be required to be prepaid at port of origin along with all other charges.

Container Size Port Congestion Surcharge
20’Containers USD$150.00
40’Containers USD$300.00

The situation will be closely monitored and the PCS will be reviewed once the situation improves.

We appreciate your kind understanding and continued support on this trade lane.
