China-Australia Free Trade Agreement

China-Australia Free Trade Agreement

Dear Customer,

Entry into force

In close consultation with the Government of China, the Australian Government is working towards entry into force of the proposed China – Australia Free Trade Agreement before the end of 2015.

It is advisable that you contact your suppliers to start the process of obtaining certificate of origin to be issued by the Chinese authorised bodies once the FTA starts.

China’s authorised bodies are: AQSIQ (General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine) where the actual certificates will be issued by provincial Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureaus, which are administered by AQSIQ; and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.

Refer to Annex 3-A: Certificate of Origin

Should you have any questions please contact your Customs broker.
