U.S. West Coast Port & Terminal Update (9 Dec 2014)

Carriers wish to provide the following update:-

U.S. West Coast port and terminal operations continue to suffer from low productivity, restricted cargo receiving windows and a lack of truck power.

Import intermodal delivery times in Southern California are hampered by lack of truck power resulting in delays of up to four (4 days).

Contract negotiations between the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA) and the ILWU have resumed but we do not expect positive results in the foreseeable future. Please allow for additional time in your supply chain planning to account for potential delays. We are working hard to mitigate some of the disruptions as far as possible but arrival and departure delays remain unavoidable.
